Bowman, FCAE, has been named a Laureate of the prestigious Global Energy International Prize “for the development of highly efficient technologies and utilities for extracting oil from oil shale and oil sands, thus contributing to the energy saving problem of humanity”. The Global Energy International Prize is a unique award founded as an alternative to the Nobel Prize with the intent to assist international cooperation in solving the most important problems in the field of power generation. Russia’s president awarded the Global Energy Award to Dr. Clement Bowman for his life-long research into the Canadian tar-sands. | ||
| Last year, Dr. Bowman, was named the first recipient of the Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE) Distinguished Service Award for his outstanding leadership of the Academy's Energy Pathways Task Force.
